Internship #1

In no particular order, here are the pics.
For some reason Blogger puts them at the top. I WANTED THEM AT THE BOTTOM

This is the storage/van dispatch room. It's for storing/van dispatching.

This is the room next to mine. There's a window that connects them!

This truck is just one of the few ways that MPR advertises. It also trucks stuff around.

The main meeting room. As you walk into the office this is what you see. Yes, it's that small.

This is my desk. Awesome.

Well, since I took the wrong pictures I only have these ones but here they are anyway. Ah, the trouble with being away from school.

Anyway, here are the logistics:

1. 6:30 A.M.
2. 2 delicious/nutritious strawberry Poop-Tarts. Mmm.
3. Well, my uncle drove me. It took about 25 minutes because we had to drop my cousins off at their school. It went well; it's Ann Arbor, so no traffic. I got to the work site at about 8.
4. My mentor didn't get there until 8:30 because she lives far away and it takes her an hour to get there. I just met some of the people who work in the building. There aren't a lot.
5. I work in a small desk with my mentor. There are two total desks and I get one of them. Yay. My area is kind of disorganized because the guy I'm borrowing the desk from is kind of disorganized.
6. I went and got Thai food with some of the employees. It was really spicy :/
7. I pretty much did the same thing I did in the morning, which was research different media that could be used to advertise the company.
8. I'm going to be doing a ton of computer work in the next couple of days, and also a lot of calling and talking to representatives about ad campaigns.
9. I don't feel prepared for the spreadsheets I'll be making, but I think I'll be fine for the calling and researching parts.
10. I need to learn Windows 7, a program called SuccessWare, and how to use Excel to it's maximum potential.
11. All of the people are super awesome and have great senses of humor. It makes it really fun and energetic.
12. All of the people are super sarcastic and have sarcastic senses of humor. It makes it hard to tell if they're joking or not.
13. I went straight to a soccer game, then straight to dinner. I didn't get home until 9.

Sarah's Question:
I asked how the company was faring economically in such a tight time like this, and they said that a lot of the more residential areas (i.e. the suburbs, neighborhoods and that sort of thing) were turning to the cheaper, less thorough cleaning/plumbing companies. MPR charges a bit more money for a more complete job, but a lot of people arent willing to pay as much in this current economic state.

Looking forward to day 2!
